HANCOCK COUNTY GUN CLUB MINUTES
21 August 2019
The August meeting convened at 1933 by President Clay Hinderliter
ATTENDANCE: Role call showed the following absent, Melvin M., Bob H., and Frank H. All others were present and constituted a quorum.
MINUTES: Minutes of the July meeting were read and approved on motion by Tim T., second by Keith H. Motion passed on voice vote.
The August report is attached with the details. Paid membership is 388. Motion to accept by Steve M.; second by Jim B. Motion approved by voice vote.
NEW MEMBERS: Couton Washer, Dwight Snyder, and Tiffany Yautzy. Motion Bob E., second Harold N. Motion passed by a voice vote.
Officer Announcements: Bob Emmert and Steve Moore reported that there were 23 lines shot at the Buffalo Shoot and 7 squads at the benefit trap shoot. The two events raised $942 for the Honor Flight, enough to pay for two veterans to make the trip.
Clay reported that the Friends of the NRA banquet was a worthwhile event.
OLD BUSINESS: Not for profit status is being processed by the IRS. Item Open.
Berm Committee to meet Tuesday 27 August at 1800. Clay appointed committee members to include Tim T., Rich J., Bernie M., Jim B., and Clay H. Item Open.
Shooting Events Survey. Bob E. reviewed the questions the shooting events survey will present to the participants. It has been revised an updated due to feedback of the members. The survey will not be restricted to Club members; it will be available online only and open to all who choose to complete it. There will not be a safeguard to prevent one person from completing it more than once. The target dates for completing the survey are 1 - 30 Sep 2019. Item Open.
Clay will arrange for the free pressure washing of the vinyl siding. Item Open.
The Club Buffalo Shoot and the Benefit Trap Shoot was held. Item Closed.
Plaques for the Joe Matthews Indoor Range have been installed. Item closed.
Signage for McPherson Way has been installed. Item closed.
Extermination services are complete. Item Closed.
New Business: New backstop boards are needed on the rifle range. Motion by Kam to replace the boards. Second by Kyle W. Motion passed on a voice vote. Item closed.
Keith presented the proposed schedule for trap for next year. STSP classroom 6 Apr, practice 14 Apr. Club Trap League practice and sign-up 28 April. League Starts 4/5 April. Pink Heals Benefit Shoot 7 June. 21 June and 9 August Youth Trap Shoot Competition (tentative). 12 July Benefit Trap Shoot. Motion by Keith H. Second by Jim B. Passed on voice vote. Item closed.
Steve Moore made a motion, second by Kam, to give Judy and Linda each an additional $100 for their services during doubles trap league. Discussion followed concerning whether the Club should find alternatives for loading trap machines and scoring during the trap leagues rather than pay workers. Motion passed on a voice vote. Item closed.
